Biola Counseling Center

The Biola Counseling Center is a mental health facility that provides psychological services to La Mirada, CA and surrounding communities. BCC also serves the faculty, staff, and students of Biola University.

The majority of BCC therapists are associated with Biola University's Rosemead School of Psychology, either as clinical faculty or doctoral students who are supervised by licensed clinical psychologists. Doctoral Intern therapists at the BCC come from Rosemead as well as several other APA-Accredited doctoral programs in psychology. Our therapists seek to help clients arrive at a rich understanding of their personal stories so that through increased self-understanding each individual becomes better equipped to navigate the challenges of daily living. If a client has particular concerns about their spiritual life, our therapists are trained to help the client discern how spiritual matters intersect with emotional health. Some of the most common issues encountered by our clientele are depression, anxiety, loneliness, low self-esteem, and difficulties with establishing and maintaining relationships. BCC therapists are equipped to help clients address these difficulties through the practice of emotion management, appropriate interpersonal boundaries, self-awareness, and interpersonal and situational problem solving skills.
